In my classes I use a textbook but also have the students communicate in English. Listening practice is also focused on. If a student is unable to listen he or she will not be able to communicate. The goal of the class is to get the students to be comfortable communicating in English.
There are many new different ways to have students communicate including Facebook, Line and other SNS. It is important to look at which ones help students improve their motivation. Do different class activities increase or reduce students’ motivation? These are some of the factors I want to look at.
